<< S668 Steel Block >>

One Summer evening, time to leave office... Weather was not really good in PPG especially I just came back from the Chianti / Florence holiday, what a shame, but still bearable...

The workers in the shipyard were moving a big steel block for S669 project into the dock. I do not know which center block this one was, it was just HUGE!! I took out my camera, took this picture to show you guys out there.

Thinking about S668....oh boy, still long way to go for the team to put everything together. But, I will not be part of the team anymore! I resign and this is not my baby anymore.

When you are so heavily involved in one project, one often neglect the progress of the construction, unless you are the technical boys. When seeing a few blocks of big steel gradually joining up and became a big ship, then touch up with things that we had purchased and putting them up together to deliver the end product...the job satisfaction is tremendous - especially you had worked day and night to achieve it.

When my mind came back after thinking about my job satisfaction from S667, the block had been moved from the indoor dock to other site. The shipyard was so quiet except the noise from the truck.

Sun was setting. I thought, it is time to go home. Indeed... Time To Go Home. This time, I do not need a compass....
